Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton has announced that €20m in seed capital is available to support Irish companies.
The fund is aimed at innovative companies focused on "go fast to market" strategies according to a statement.
The fund is available for co-investment and expressions of interest are being sought from fund managers.
Advertisements will appear in national newspapers this week seeking co-investors for this funding.
The Department's statement says that to date close to €155m of the total €175m under the Seed and Venture Capital Programme 2007 - 2012 has been committed to 11 Seed and Venture Funds.
In total, these funds have in excess of €630m under management for investment in early stage and growing companies.
Approximately €20m remains and this third call for expressions of interest is being issued with the objective of Enterprise Ireland making a number of commitments to fund managers focussed on assisting investee companies to "go fast to market" and assisting in attracting international syndicates of investors.
