Manufacturing prices are up 3.2% since June 2011 according to the CSO

Figures from the Central Statistics Office show that monthly factory gate, or manufacturing, prices increased by 0.3% in the month of June.

The figures show an increase of 3.2% in June 2012, when compared with June 2011.

This compares with an increase of 2% in May 2012 when compared with May 2011.

The price index for export sales increased by 0.6%, in the month of June while the index for home sales decreased by 0.9%.

Computer, electronic and optical products were up 1.3% in the month while basic pharmaceutical products and preparations were up 0.9%.

Bread and confectionary was up 0.7% while fish and fish products fell by 3.5%.

Dairy products fell 2.8% while electrical equipment fell 1.2%.

The cost of building and construction materials increased by 2.8% in the twelve months to June 2012.
