eBay revenues up 23%, Paypal volume up 20%

eBay is benefitting from increased use of its Paypal online payment service from consumers who are buying products and services online over mobile smartphones.

Latest quarterly results from eBay overnight show the company, which is one of the biggest multinational employers here, saw its revenues rise 23% to €3.4 billion compared to the same three month period last year.

The volume of transactions on Paypal was up 20%.

Paypal has its European headquarters in Blanchardstown in Dublin and announced this year that it is to create a further 1,000 jobs in Dundalk.

Results filed in the companies office in the last week show increased operating profit and a marginal increase in revenue.
