Ardagh Group has announced the acquisition of Forida-based Anchor Glass for €721m.
Ardagh Group, headquartered in Luxembourg, provides metal and glass packaging for companies such as AB InBev, Heineken, Diageo P&G and Coca Cola among others.
Anchor Glass is the third biggest glass container manufacturer in the US. It produces 5.6 billion containers annually.
The deal is subject to US regulatory approval. Paul Coulson, Chairman of Ardagh said the deal would increase the size of the group's glass business by almost 50% and said that it was "a very significant step" in developing its US operations.
