Eason & Son, Ireland's largest retailer of books, stationery, news and magazines, has invested over €1.1m in a major upgrade of its store in Cork.

The 12,500 square foot Cork store in Patrick Street employs 49 people.

It is the first store in Ireland to receive this significant renovation as part of an overall €20m investment programme by the company.

The company has 60 stores throughout the island of Ireland, employing over 1,000 people.

The €20m investment strategy is being rolled out over three years as part of Eason’s overall strategic plan and retail strategy which includes online and digital initiatives, store refurbishments; marketing and loyalty initiatives.
