Italy's unemployment rate dropped slightly in May from the level in April but remained above the 10% barrier.
But youth employment reached a new record high, official figures showed today.
The unemployment rate dropped to 10.1% in May from 10.2% in April. The jobless rate among 15 to 24-year-olds went up 0.9 percentage points to 36.2% in recession-hit Italy, Istat said.
