Independent News & Media said last night that David Reid-Scott has resigned as a director of the company with immediate effect.
In a statement to the Irish Stock Exchange, the company said the number of directors has now fallen below the minimum level of five required under its Articles of Association.
It confirmed that steps will be taken ''as soon as practicable'' to make additional appointments to the board.
A further announcement will be made in due course, the company added.
Reid-Scott is the seventh director in eight weeks to step down from the company.
