The Bank of England has opted to keep its main interest rate at a record-low of 0.5% and maintain the level of economic stimulus, it announced today.
"The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee today voted to maintain the official Bank Rate paid on commercial bank reserves at 0.50 percent," said a statement.
It also decided to maintain the stock of asset purchases.
"The Committee also voted to maintain the stock of asset purchases financed by the issuance of central bank reserves at £325 billion," it added.
