The Brooks group of builders' merchants has been sold to UK timber group Premier Forest Products for an undisclosed sum.
The move, announced by liquidator Kieran Wallace, will save 60 jobs in six outlets throughout Ireland.
Mark Lohan, Managing Director of Brooks, Ireland's oldest company, welcomed the news saying that the new owners understand the business: "Our new owners are timber people and understand the business."
The Brooks group went into liquidation earlier this year, and other company employees secured employment in the Tubs and Tiles part of the business which was sold separately.
