80 new jobs have been announced this morning in separate developments in Dublin and Limerick.

In Dublin, business search engine CashIQ has announced the creation of 45 new positions which will come on stream over the next three years.

In Limerick, the German semiconductor firm ZMDI is creating 35 jobs as it sets up a research and development design centre in the city.

The jobs are for engineering graduates and technicians and will be created over five years.

The new centre in Limerick will focus on the development of energy saving and power management products.

A statement from the company said that growth in this area is being driven by the demand for increased energy efficiency in data centre cooling, telecommunications and high-end computing.
