Independent News and Media has announced that Bengt Braun is to step down as a director of the company.
Bengt Braun is the Vice-Chairman and former Chief Executive of Bonnier AB, Scandinavia's largest and most sucessful media group, in his native Sweden.
He was elected to the board of INM in 2010, and said that his decision to step down was due to the allocation of new duties to him in Bonnier AB.
Mr. Braun said his new role would involve joining two new boards in Bonnier AB, one of which is in the US and that this would mean considerable amount of extra travel.
"Accordingly", he said "I decided that I would not be putting my name forward for re-election at the upcoming AGM"
