New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that annual manufacturing prices rose by 2.6% in March compared to the same time last year.
The CSO figures show there was no monthly change in factory gate prices in March from February. This compared to a decrease of 0.2% in March 2011.
The price of energy products increased by 2.9% in the year since March 2011, while petroleum fuels jumped by 7.7%.
In March of this year, the monthly price index for energy products rose by 0.9% while petroleum fuels increased by 2.3%.
All building and construction materials increased by 2.4% in the year since March 2011. The biggest changes were seen in other timber prices, paints, oils and varnishes and concrete blocks and blocks. Decreases were seen in prices for PVC pipes and fittings and stand and gravel.
