Independent News and Media has reissued its press release announcing Gavin O'Reilly's resignation.
The latest press release removes the word "unanimous" from the vote of directors in relation to yesterday's agreement.
RTE News understands that two directors - Lucy Gaffney and Paul Connolly - voted against the compromise deal.
It is believed they were supportive of Vincent Crowley's appointment as CEO but they had reservations about terms of an exit package for Gavin O'Reilly.
Both Ms Gaffney and Mr Connolly represent Denis O'Brien on the INM board.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Communications, Pat Rabbitte, has said the Government is concerned about diversity of ownership and diversity of content in Irish media.
Mr Rabbitte was responding to questions about the resignation of Gavin O'Reilly as chief executive of Independent News and Media, amid attempts by Denis O'Brien to take control of the company.
Minister Rabbitte said upcoming competition legislation will bring responsibility for the issue to his department.
Asked if he was concerned that Denis O'Brien owned too much media in Ireland, he said that since he was likely to be the minister with responsibility for all the media, he did not want to be seen to pre-judge the situation.
