The Central Statistics Office has said that industrial manufacturing for February 2012 was 3.6% lower than in January 2012.
On an annual basis production for February 2012 decreased by 3.3% when compared with February 2011.
For the three months from December to February, the seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries was 3.9% lower than in the preceding 3 month period.
When broken down, the "modern" sector comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed a monthly decrease in production for February 2012 of 5.8% and there was an increase of 0.4% in the "traditional" sector.
The seasonally adjusted industrial turnover index for manufacturing industries was 6.2% lower in February 2012 when compared with January 2012.
On an annual basis turnover was 5.7% lower when compared with February 2011.
