Taoiseach Enda Kenny is continuing a four-day trade and investment mission to China. Later today, he will meet Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping.
The Taoiseach is being accompanied on the trip by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton and Enterprise Ireland's chief executive Frank Ryan. The aim of the trip is to enhance economic and trade co-operation and to expand cultural exchanges between the two countries.
During his visit, Mr Kenny officially opened the growing Shanghai office of the Irish owned global recruiter Morgan McKinley. The company opened its first mainland China office in the Pudong high growth economic zone in the city last year. It also has offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia, Dubai, France, the UK and Ireland.
Morgan McKinley's investments in China and Hong Kong amount to €5m, and its efforts are supported by Enterprise Ireland. It employs 70 people in China and today said it plans to expand this to 200 people, who will cover its Asian operations over the next three years.
