Ryanair plans to start a new Dublin-Warsaw route from July, one of eight new routes the airline plans from the Polish capital's new Modlin Airport.

The airport is due to open on July 16. Ryanair will be competing with LOT and Wizzair on the Polish routes.

Last week, Ryanair said it would open a base in Budapest in two weeks' time, subject to agreement with Budapest Airport on costs, facilities and handling. This followed the news that Hungary's national carrier Malev had ceased operations. Ryanair said it would base four planes at Budapest, and open 31 new routes.
