The Core Media Group has agreed to buy media buying agency Mediaworks in a deal worth about €3m.
Core Media Group is majority Irish owned and has combined billings of over €160m a year. It claims the deal will make it the largest media buyer in the Irish market and will now have a total workforce of 116.
Established in 1996, Mediaworks is an Irish owned agency headed up by managing director Paul Moran. Its clients include Johnston Mooney & O'Brien, KBC Bank, Trocaire and Quinn Direct.
Core Media's group of agencies include Aer Lingus, AIB, An Post, ESB, IDA Ireland, Independent News and Media, National Lottery, O2 Ireland and Mars Ireland among their clients.
