The chief executive of food company Aryzta, the owners of the Cuisine De France bakery brand, has been awarded an annual pay packet of more than €7m for the current financial year.

Owen Killian was paid a basic salary of just over €1.2m and a performance bonus worth €6.1m, making him one of the highest paid executives in Irish corporate history.

The Aryzta chief benefitted from a long term incentive programme at the company to reward executives for hitting performance targets over a period of years.
