Two separate house price surveys show asking prices dropped by over 3% between June and September.
Both Daft.ie and Myhome.ie found that prices around the country have fallen by more than 40% since the peak of the market in 2006 and 2007.
According to Daft.ie, asking prices are down by an average of 3.5% for the third quarter.
In Dublin prices are now 55% off their peak in some parts of the capital.
The survey also found that prices were up in Galway by just over 1%.
Myhome.ie registered a 3.2% decline- giving a national average asking price of €241,000.
With variations in prices across the country, myhome.ie found there was a 10% decline in the prices of a 3-bed semi in counties Monaghan, Westmeath and Offaly.
The surveys point to weak consumer sentiment, and a lack of credit from banks as the main contributors to the latest price reductions.
