NAMA LONDON SITES ATTRACT INTEREST - NAMA is gearing up to sell a large number of properties in London, just as the city is going through something of a boom in prices for trophy properties.
This is happening just as the agency published a list of additional properties for sale, or subject to enforcement action.
Louise Cooper of BGC Partners in London said the NAMA list was grabbing newspaper headlines in the UK, as there were some very prestigious properties involved. These included Hanley's toy store in Regent Street, retail property in Knightsbridge and hotels such as Claridge's.
She said much of this was prime stock and 'very sellable', adding that the London property market had held up very well because of high interest from foreign buyers from places such the Middle East and Russia.
Ms Cooper said sterling had been quite weak, which could make deals for the NAMA properties very attractive for international buyers.
