New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that monthly factory gate prices were unchanged in July from the previous month.
The CSO says this compares to a fall of 0.6% in July 2010, and as a result the annual percentage change showed a fall of 0.4% in July of this year.
Factory gate prices refer to the price of goods before they reach the consumer.
The CSO notes that building and construction prices increased by 1.6% in the year since July 2010. The price of energy products rose by 4.6%, while petroleum fuels jumped by 12.8%
On an annual basis, dairy products rose by 10.5%, while meat and meat products increased by 8.2%. The prices of computer, electronic and optical products fell by 3% while other food products, including bread and confectionary eased by 1%.
