Origin Enterprises deal - CM Fertilisers bought for £25m

Agribusiness firm Origin Enterprises is buying the fertiliser business of UK firm Carr's Milling in a deal worth about £25m sterling.

CM Fertilisers, based in Scotland and the North of England, provides branded specialist fertilisers and integrated nutrient management systems for the arable, grassland, horticulture and forestry sectors.

Origin says the deal will further the development of its core position in the provision of sustainable agricultural technologies and integrated on-farm advisory services that support the primary sectors of the food industry.

The deal is still subject to a number of conditions including approval by the shareholders of Carrs Milling and an AGM to approve the transaction will be held next month.

Origin says the purchase will be funded from existing bank facilities.
