An IT firm will create 125 jobs in Dublin over the next three years. Marketo specialises in revenue performance management.
The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, said the news is a great confidence boost for cloud computing in Ireland and for the high tech sectors of the economy generally.
President and CEO of Marketo, Phil Fernandez, said Ireland was chosen because the company needed a 'European hub with a large talent pool of skilled people'.
Recruiting is already underway for sales, marketing, support, consulting, development and back office positions.
Marketo is one of the fastest growing cloud computing companies based in Silicon Valley in the US and had sales growth last year of 300%.
40 jobs go at Offaly boiler firm
Grant Engineering in Birr, Co Offaly, has let 40 seasonal workers go from its workforce as a direct result of the decline in the building sector.
The job losses have taken place over the last six weeks. A spokeswoman for the company confirmed today that these workers had been employed on a seasonal basis over the last two years, and some could be re-employed in future if business requires it. The company says this has happened before.
Grant, one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of domestic oil-fired boilers in Ireland and the UK, has previously employed around 270 people at its factory in Crinkle, Birr.
