The launch of a new internationally focused credit analysis company was announced today in Cork.
Founded by ex-senior executives of rating agency Standard & Poor's, Rockboro Analytics will create 50 jobs over the next five years.
These jobs, supported by Enterprise Ireland, will provide expert credit assessment solutions for banks, insurers, investment managers and corporations globally.
'Ireland, and Cork in particular, is an ideal base for Rockboro's analytical hub and we look forward to growing the firm aggressively in the coming years,' commented the company's managing director Bernard O'Sullivan.
'Rockboro Analytics is an excellent example of the type of globally focused, specialist knowledge-based company that Ireland needs as part of the development of its economic future,' said Finance Minister Michael Noonan.
Easylink to create 20 Clonakilty jobs
A US company has also announced the creation of 20 jobs at Clonakilty in West Cork today.
EasyLink, which provides companies with secure systems to transfer data and files electronically, is expanding its European shared services centre at the West Cork Business and Technology Park in Clonakilty.
EasyLink already employs 25 people at that location. The company has 30,000 customers in five continents.
The existing 25 customer support staff were formerly employed by Premier Global Services, which is also based in Clonakilty. Easylink acquired the messaging services of Premier Global Services last year.
The expansion of its operation in Clonakilty will add finance and accounting staff.
The expansion is being supported by the Government through IDA Ireland and has been welcomed by the Minister for Research and Innovation, Sean Sherlock.
