50 new jobs are to be created in Dublin by US financial services company Asset Control.
Asset Control manages information for financial services companies, and its clients include many of the big name international banks.
Details of the jobs were announced this morning by Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Minister Richard Bruton and IDA Ireland.
The jobs are for graduates and senior developers in the company's financial technology division, which carries out research, trading, operations, risk management and compliance on behalf of its clients.
It says one of the reasons it is creating the jobs in Ireland is because of the availability of qualified staff.
The financial services sector here employs around 25,000 staff overall across banking, funds and insurance.
Bausch & Lomb investing €70m in Waterford plant
Bausch and Lomb has announced it is investing €70m in expanding its facility in Waterford. The company is one of the biggest employers in the south east.
Bausch and Lomb is one of the biggest eye-care companies in the world, with manufacturing factories in its home base of the US, as well as in other European counties and in Asia.
It came to Waterford more than 30 years ago and there were fears over the past two years of further job losses to its current workforce of 1,100.
But visiting the Waterford site this afternoon, the company's chief executive Brent Saunders announced a €70m investment in the factory, including a big extension.
100 jobs will be generated in construction and while not many new jobs will be created long term, the investment should help safeguard current employment levels at the facility where contact lenses and other ophthalmic products are made.
The new investment will also allow for increased production.
