LinkedIn, the online social network for professionals and job seekers, has announced plans for 100 new jobs in Dublin over the next 12 months.
The jobs will include graduate and experienced positions, in areas such as sales, business development, marketing, customer services, finance, HR and operations.
LinkedIn has more than 100 million members in more than 200 countries. The LinkedIn website was launched in 2003.
'LinkedIn has continued to expand since we opened our international headquarters in Dublin in March 2010, working closely with IDA Ireland,' said the company's international human resources director Connie Gibney. The company had added more than 70 people to its Irish workforce since then.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton said LinkedIn was 'an excellent addition' to the thriving digital media industry operating from Ireland.
Meanwhile, Debenhams has signed a lease contract for a new department store in a town centre development in Sligo, expected to open by December 2013.
Developer Treasury Holdings says 350 people will be employed during the construction of the centre, with Debenhams employing up to 120 people when it opens.
And a Co Antrim bus manufacturing company is to supply 300 new vehicles to a a UK-based firm in a deal worth £50m sterling.
Wrightbus, based in Ballymena is making the buses for FirstGroup, the UK's largest provider of public transport which has operations in London, Manchester and Glasgow and in north America. Wrightbus say the new contract will secure 1,000 jobs at the company.
