Ten companies have been awarded funding under an Enterprise Ireland scheme designed to help companies in the internet and gaming sector.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation Richard Bruton made the announcement after meeting the companies to discuss their plans.
Enterprise Ireland said the successful firms, drawn from more than 120 applicants, had shown a strong potential to trade their business internationally.
The agency set up as a way of providing support for very early stage companies at a critical period. Each of the ten companies receives an equity investment of €50,000 in return for a 10% stake. They will also be allocated 'an experienced business mentor' to help them to develop their business.
