APN News & Media, which is 31.6% owned by Independent News & Media, has reported net profits of A$93.8m for last year, up 1.2% from 2009.

When once-off items and discontinued businesses were stripped out, however, there was a bigger increase of 9% to just A$103m. Revenue from continuing businesses grew by 2.8% to just over A$1 billion.

APN said it would pay a final dividend of A$13.4m to INM, giving a total of A$23m for the year.

'APN's revenue growth of 3% reflects the resilience of our diverse portfolio of media assets and is indicative of our markets emerging from the global financial crisis,' said chief executive Brett Chenoweth. He said APN Outdoor had performed particularly strongly.
