Newspaper circulation figures for the second half of 2010 show falls for all of the main daily and Sunday newspapers compared with the same period in 2009.

The Audit Bureau of Circulation figures show that in the daily market, the Irish Independent still leads the way with an average circulation of 138,510 a day, down 7.6% on the same period a year earlier.

The Irish Times fell by just over 4% to 102,453, while the Irish Examiner dropped 6.3% to 46,011.

In the Sunday newspaper market, the Sunday World was 7.1% lower at 251,334, while the Sunday Independent's circulation fell 5.2% to 254,311. The Sunday Business Post fell 12.6% to 45,696. No figures were given for the Sunday Tribune, which went into receivership earlier this year.

The Evening Herald dropped by 5.6% to 65,435, while Cork's Evening Echo fell 6.8% to 21,301.

The ABC report also provided figures for a number of websites. The report says RTE.ie had an average of 285,449 unique users a day in the period. The Irish Times site recorded 234,974, while Independent digital sites had 211,174 users a day. Daft.ie had 176,162.
