Denis O'Brien's mobile phone company Digicel has taken a controlling stake in Netxar Technologies, which is involved in integrating IT systems.
Netxar is based in Puerto Rico and has operations in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago.
Digicel Group has 11 million customers across its 32 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and the Pacific.
