Ryanair has said it will cut routes at a number of German airports next summer, blaming a new €8 travel tax introduced by the German government.
The airline says it will axe four routes from Berlin, eight from Bremen, 13 from Dusseldorf Weeze - including a route to Kerry - and nine from Frankfurt Hahn. Ryanair says the cuts will result in the loss of three million passengers a year.
'Even the Irish Government recognised the damage that its €10 tourist tax has done to Irish tourism and jobs and last week slashed the tax from €10 to €3 in 2011,' said Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary.
