United Drug buys UK event management firm

Healthcare services company United Drug has bought global events management company World Events Group for £13.5m sterling.

World Events Group provides event management, logistics and marketing services to international pharmaceutical manufacturers. Headquartered in the UK, it employs over 100 and has offices in the US, Asia and Europe.

United Drug says the deal will be financed through the company's internal resources and existing debt facilities. It expects it to be earnings enhancing immediately.

'The acquisition, along with our existing events management business, will allow us to meet the growing demand for a global event management service from international pharmaceutical manufacturers,' commented United Drug's chief executive Liam FitzGerald.
