More than 99% of works at the Bank of Ireland art sale were sold last night, with the total sum raised topping €1.5m.
Top price of the evening was paid for a Paul Henry painting 'Clouds at Sunset', which was sold for €55,000. Other prices included €60,000 for Louis le Brocquy's Head of James Joyce, €50,000 for Gerard Dillon's 'Out with the Nets' and €32,000 for a Sean Keating self portrait.
More than 500 people attended the auction in the Great Room at the Shelbourne Hotel in Dublin city centre. The sale was moved to the hotel from Adams sale rooms because of the large number of people in attendance. More than 4,000 people viewed the exhibition over the past four days.
The proceeds of the auction will be used to fund community arts organisations and charities throughout the country.
