New figures from the CSO show industrial production grew by 12.1% year-on-year to the end of September.
The figures also show the seasonally adjusted figure for industrial production from July to September this year was 2.3% higher than the preceding three months.
Manufacturing in high-technology, chemical and medical sectors showed an annual increase of 13.5% in September this year, while more traditional sectors grew by 6.5% over the same time.
The seasonally adjusted figure for turnover grew by 8.1% year-on-year, and was 2.4% higher from July to September, compared to April to June.
