IBM has confirmed that 190 'server manufacturer' jobs are to go at its facility in Mulhuddart, Co Dublin.

The jobs are going to Shenzhen in China.

A spokesperson it's part of IBM's on-going transformation at its technology campus.

IBM currently employs around 3,000 people in Ireland.

The spokesperson said the company will seek to re-employ some of the 190 workers in Mulhuddart in other roles within IBM.

However, in a statement IDA Ireland said this was part of an overall transformation of IBM’s Mulhuddart Technology Campus, which involves new activities being added to the Dublin site, and which has been announced over previous years.

It said there would be no net change in headcount following IBM’s ‘server’ move to Asia.

There are a number of vacancies being filled at the Mulhuddart campus which will balance out any loss of roles in server manufacturing.
