AIB TO START M&T SALE PROCESS - AIB is in the news this morning over its plans to dispose of its stake in US bank M&T. AIB is selling notes initially, because the shares can't officially be sold on the open market until the board and shareholders approve it.

To get things underway, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup will sell investors notes, which can later be exchanged for M&T shares, once the deal has been approved.

BID TO GET OVER-50s BACK IN BUSINESS - There is a drive underway to get the over 50s involved in business in different ways. It is estimated that 75% of the wealth in the EU is in the hands of the over-50s.

The co-ordinator of 'Senior Enterprise', Paula Fitzsimons says over-50s can be entrepreneurs themselves, or with a younger person. She said older people could also be involved in business in an advisory capacity.
