Ryanair is cutting its daily Kerry to Dublin schedule from three to one return flight a day from October 31.

The airline says it is cutting the service after it claims that the Minister for Transport failed to honour his obligations under the Kerry Public Service Obligation contract after costs at the airport rose.

Ryanair says it will now operate the Kerry-Dublin route on a commercial basis, without any PSO subsidy.

Ryanair will continue to operate four routes from Kerry to Dublin, Frankfurt Hahn, London Luton and London Stansted.

'The Minister for Transport has refused to honour the PSO contract which requires him to increase payments to reflect the Government tourist tax and the Government imposed increase in DAA and ATC charges which had added an extra €19 per passenger on the Kerry-Dublin route,' commented Ryanair's Stephen McNamara.
