The Keith Prowse call centre in Lisfannon, Buncrana, Co Donegal, is to close its doors on Sunday, according to management there. Approximately 50 full time and 50 part time jobs will be lost
The group CEO Paul Burns told RTÉ News that many of the workers at the call centre, which handles ticket sales for entertainment events, have already been let go.
He said that a number of factors were involved in the company's decision to suspend trading pending possible restructure, and added that he is waiting for the appointment of administrators.
Padraig McLoughlin, Mayor of Buncrana, said that it is a devastating blow for an area in which unemployment is already high, and which can not cope with more job losses.
