The Beacon Medical Group has secured planning permission from An Bord Pleanála to build a Women and Children's Hospital adjacent to its existing general hospital in Sandyford in South Dublin.
The group estimates that the 120-bed hospital will cost €160m and will employ 550 people during construction. Beacon says the project will create employment for 450 people with 650 ancillary jobs. The facility will be available to public and private patients.
