Tullow finds more oil in Ghana

Tullow Oil says it has found a 'significant column of excellent quality light oil' in its Owo-1 exploration well offshore Ghana.

The well is located in the company's Deepwater Tano licence and is about 6km to the west of the Tweneboa wells.

The company said it will immediately drill an appraisal sidetrack well to further access the size of this find.

'Accelerated appraisal drilling will now focus on maturing the resources in both Owo and the adjacent Tweneboa accumulation towards commercialisation,' commented Tullow's exploration director Angus McCoss.
