The receiver at B3 Cable Solutions in Longford has confirmed to RTÉ that he met Government agencies this morning as part of his work to try to secure a viable future for the cable manufacturing company.
It is understood one of the agencies he met was IDA Ireland. Alan Flanagan of Deloitte has also said that he will honour all outstanding salary payments owed to workers, but he was unwilling to confirm or deny reports that no formal offers have been made to buy the company.
Mr Flanagan met SIPTU union officials at the Longford Arms Hotel earlier this morning.
SIPTU Branch Secretary Seán Nolan has said workers are still hopeful that a buyer can be found even at this eleventh hour. A deadline for a new a owner to be found is set for noon tomorrow.
Workers at the company have called on the Minister for Communications Eamon Ryan to intervene to ensure that lucrative contracts with Eircom and ESB - currently held by B3 - are retained at the Longford facility.
