Business support services group DCC has agreed the sale of its mobility and rehabilitation business to Patterson Medical. The deal is worth €37m.
The assets being sold comprise DCC's 94% shareholding in Physio Med Services, its 60% shareholdings in Ausmedic Australia and Metron Holdings and the business of Days Healthcare UK Limited.
The M&R accounted for less than 1% of the group's operating profit in the financial year ended March 2010.
'The disposal of DCC Mobility & Rehab is consistent with our strategy to concentrate the focus of DCC Healthcare on our larger healthcare businesses, DCC Hospital Supplies & Services and DCC Health & Beauty Solutions, which have strong leadership positions and significant opportunities for organic and acquisition growth,' commented DCC's CEO Tommy Breen.
Shares in the group closed up 0.3% to €19.25 in Dublin this evening.
