NTR is to sell its UK-based waste management company Greenstar UK to a group of private equity investors for £135m (€162m).
The company is being bought by Montagu Private Equity and Global Infrastructure Partners.
NTR said the deal would release significant resources for the group, enabling it to boost its cash reserves and invest in other areas of its energy and waste management business.
The net proceeds to NTR after repayment of debt and disposal costs will amount to around £80m (€96m). The decision does not affect NTR's Irish and US-based Greenstar businesses.
