A €3.6m investment in research and development by a Donegal company is to lead to the creation of 71 new jobs over the next three years.
The investment by E&I Engineering Ireland is being backed by Enterprise Ireland. The new jobs will be at the company's headquarters in Burnfoot, Co Donegal.
E&I Engineering makes electrical switchgear and distribution products for the building services sector. It employs 249 people in Ireland and has manufacturing operations in the United Arab Emirates.
The investment will be used to expand its product range to allow it to move into new markets.
E&I managing director Philip O'Doherty said its new research programme would target the renewable energy sector as well as its existing markets. The company also wants to expand its sales into mainland Europe.
