The death has taken place of one of the best known agribusiness men in the north midlands. Patrick 'Buddy' Kiernan, from Kilnaleck in Co Cavan, passed away after a short illness.
He is best known for his management of one of the largest piggery operations on the island of Ireland and his ownership of the HKM Milling group.
He is also a former senior shareholder in the Shannonside-Northern Sound radio group.
