Dublin software company Openet is to invest €3.65m in a research and development programme with support from Enterprise Ireland. As a result, the company will 35 new jobs in Dublin over the next year.
The company currently employs 145 people in Ireland. The 35 new jobs include engineers and software engineers.
Openet CEO Niall Norton said the R&D expansion would help the company to quickly take advantage of a number of new market opportunities.
Openet's customers include BT, Orange, AT&T and Verizon Wireless.
Hidden Hearing to expand after sales growth
Meanwhile, Irish hearing healthcare company Hidden Hearing has announced plans to invest more than €18m to double its presence in the Irish market over the next five years.
It said it would increase the number of employees from the current 110, adding another 22 this year, with more to come as new hearing centres open.
Hidden Hearing said the investment followed strong sales growth over the past number of years, adding that there had been a record number of hearing device fittings in 2009. The company said that sales increased by 15% in 2009.
Hidden Hearing's five-year growth plan aims to double the number of its hearing centre branches from 20 to 40.
