The Director of Corporate Enforcement has said his investigation in Anglo Irish Bank will take several more months to complete.

Paul Appleby told the Oireachtas Committee on Enterprise, Trade & Employment that there had been good co-operation from the current board of the bank. But he refused to say if all former Anglo workers were co-operating with the inquiry, saying that most were.

Mr Appleby also said the investigation was progressing well. He refused to give an exact date as to when he thought the inquiry would be completed, but said there were months of work ahead.

Mr Appleby also said that the investigation was the largest and most complex that his office had undertaken, and there had been a lot of co-operation between the office and the Gardaí. He said he could not comment on some aspects of the inquiry as he did not want to prejudice it.
