Official figures show that the volume of manufacturing production in November was down 9.1% compared with the same month last year.
The Central Statistics Office said production of computer, electronic and optical products slumped by 36% from November last year, while food production was down 12.5%.
The modern sector - which includes the technology and chemical sectors - showed a 3.7% annual fall, while the traditional sector dropped 17.7%.
Production in the three months from September to November was 3.1% lower than in the previous three months.
