More than 250 cars are to be auctioned off later this month in what the organisers say is the biggest car liquidation auction to take place in Ireland.

The cars are being sold off as part of the liquidation of the EP Mooney car dealership by Paul McCann of Grant Thornton. The cars being sold - which include Jaguars, BMWs and Volvos - have a total value of more than €3m.

All cars are to be auctioned off on January 16 and can be viewed beforehand at the EP Mooney dealership on the Naas Road in Dublin. Kieron Gammell, managing director of E-Auctions, said all cars must be sold on the day.

EP Mooney, one of the country's best known car dealerships, was put into liquidation in November with the loss of around 90 jobs.
