A Galway medical technology company has acquired US firm Tactx Medical, putting within the top ten global providers of such technologies.
Creganna, which employs 510 people in Ireland, announced the move would bring the total workforce globally to 800 people.
The company will be known as Creganna - Tactx Medical.
The new company had a combined revenue of $110m in 2009.
